With a season ending loss to the Horn Lake Eagles, the Starkville Yellowjackets still continue to rack up more accolades to make their season one to remember.  Four Yellowjackets were chosen to be a part of the MAC High School All-State Team. The MAC High School All-State Team is a team selected by member coaches of the MAC.
Starkville High School players Rodrigues Clark, Zach Edwards, Jalil Clemons and Rufus Harvey represent the Jackets in the MAC High School All-State Team. Clark made first team offense while his senior teammates Clemons and Edwards made first team defense. Junior Rufus Harvey made second team offense.

Clark averaged 7.2 yards per rush this season at running back with his second-straight season of 1,000 yards and a career-high 23 touchdowns. Clark received the honor for the second consecutive year.
“It’s a blessing and I just want to thank God for putting me in this position,” Clark said.
Dynamic duo Jalil Clemons and Zach Edwards constantly created havoc for offenses throughout the year.
Clemons had a total of 57 tackles with 18 tackles for loss (TFL) and 24 solo tackles while averaging 5.7 tackles a game. Also, Edwards had a total of 79 tackles with 26 TFL and 38 solo tackles while averaging 6.6 tackles a game.
“It’s a blessing to be put on that list and blessed to make the first team but I’m nowhere near where I want to be in life and that’s going to change,” Edwards said. “I knew I had to come back even harder for my team this year, so to go from second to first team is a huge honor,” added Clemons.
Yellow Jackets’ leading wide receiver returns looking for an even better season next year. Rufus Harvey averaged 17.6 yards per catch this season with a career high of nine touchdowns and 935 receiving yards.
“It means a lot to me to make the list, but I have to give all glory to the man above for the blessings and things he has done for me,” Harvey said. “I will continue to work and never get complacent.”
