People should have the choice to wear a mask or not.

It’s their body, it should be their choice. People have rights to their body; therefore, they should be able to choose to wear a mask or not. According to www.un.org, human rights include the right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education, and many more. The most important part of that is the right to life and liberty meaning people have rights to their own body and should have the choice to wear a mask or not.

There are ways to prevent Covid-19 without wearing a mask. There are multiple other ways to prevent getting Covid-19. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention you can prevent Covid- 19 by, getting vaccinated, staying 6-feet apart from others, avoiding large crowds, washing hands often, covering coughs, cleaning frequently touched surfaces often, and monitoring health daily. Doing all these things can prevent the Covid-19 virus without wearing a mask.

Masks cannot prevent people from getting Covid-19 fully. Masks are just a way to prevent getting sick since masks cannot protect or sure stop the spread of Covid-19. According to WedMD, Masks can only block up to 50-70% of droplets and particles. So, masks are not 100% effective and people can still get the Covid-19 virous when wearing a mask.

People should not be required to wear masks if they don’t want to. It’s their body; it should be their choice. There are many other ways to prevent getting Covid-19 without wearing a mask. Masks cannot prevent getting the Covid- 19 virus 100%. Some places today require people to be wearing a mask to enter but it should be the persons choice.
